Morten Nørtoft wins the first stage of the ORLEN Nations Grand Prix. Best Pole in 6th position

After a solo breakaway, the victory of the first day of the ORLEN Nations Grand Prix went to Dane Morten Nørtoft, who put his rivals more than 30 seconds apart. Immediately after him at the finish line in Bialystok arrived: Leslie Luhrs (Germany) and Gleb Karapenko (Estonia). The best Pole turned out to be Kacper Gieryk (Polish National Team).

In difficult weather conditions, riders from 13 teams, set off on the nearly 157-kilometer route from Suprasl to Bialystok.

– The race was very hard from the beginning, made all the more difficult by the weather conditions. I knew I was in good shape and had strength in my legs, so when I felt a good moment I decided to attack. – said the winner Morten Nortoft about his ride today.

With today’s victory, Nortoft also became the leader of the overall classification of the ORLEN Nations Race, and the Danish national team proved to be the best team of the day.

– My sincere congratulations to the winner, Morten Nortoft, who did the best of all the riders today and finished the race in Bialystok with a big advantage over the rest of the competitors. But the Poles also deserve praise, especially Kacper Gieryk from the Polish national team, who stayed in the lead for most of the race and finally finished in 6th position.
