The first stage of the ORLEN Nations Grand Prix delivered plenty of excitement and unexpected outcomes to the fans. Under the Bouzov Castle, Danish cyclist Kristian Egholm triumphed, the best among the trio of escapees. Today cyclists face an even tougher challenge – the finish line on the demanding ascent to Kohutka!
Czechia delighted us with its roads and exceptional landscapes on the first stage of the ORLEN Nations Grand Prix. After an exciting stage from Prostějov to Bouzov, it’s time for another mountain top finish. On Thursday, the peloton will start for a dynamic stage from the charming town of Prerov, heading towards demanding climbs.
Today, there are planned 5 difficult ascents – KOMs will be located in the towns of Dušná and Hlaváčky, where riders will compete for points for prestigious classification. After yesterday’s stage, Pietro Mattio will start in the green jersey of the best climber.
Mountain emotions will accompany today’s racing until the very end. The finish line will take place on a very demanding, several-kilometer ascent to Kohutka, a well-known ski resort offering beautiful views of the picturesque countryside.
There is no doubt that today the climbers will fight for victory. Will anyone manage to take the white leader’s jersey in the ORLEN general classification from Danish rider Kristian Egholm, the winner of yesterday’s stage? How will last year’s winner of the ORLEN Nations Grand Prix, Slovenian Gal Glivar, do on Kohutka? There are many questions before one of the toughest stages of this year’s race, and we’ll find out the answers by this afternoon. We can’t wait – a true mountain spectacle is on the horizon!
