It’s wheels up for the ORLEN NATIONS GRAND PRIX, the Polish stage that has been added to this year’s UCI Nations Cup calendar. 95 riders will be lining up for the starting gates from 16 different countries, in alphabetical order: Austria, Belgium, Belorussia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland.
The first half of the event will see riders taking on a spectacular time trial on a challenging course that features plenty of climbs and descents. The stage will start in Jurgów, and the finish line will be located in Bukowina Tatrzanska.
The first squadron into the starting gate will be the Polish National team, at 10:25 a.m. The German National Time Trial team will close out this stage as the last lineup to start, at 11:10.
“Today’s time trial is very challenging; there won’t be a second to coast,” says Przemyslaw Niemiec, ex-pro Polish cyclist who has joined the Lang Team this year. “The riders will have to be extremely careful, especially on the last climb that will take them to the finish line in Bukowina Tatrzanska. For this first edition of the ORLEN NATIONS GRAND PRIX, we are very happy to be able to host so many of international cycling’s young, emerging talents.”
