Mateusz Gajdulewicz and Marco Schrettl at the forefront of the World Championships!

On Friday in Kigali, the U23 men’s road race took place. Riders well-known from the ORLEN Nations Grand Prix delivered excellent performances. Austria’s Marco Schrettl, winner of this year’s edition, claimed the bronze medal, while Poland’s Mateusz Gajdulewicz finished 5th!

The U23 riders competed on a demanding circuit in Kigali, Rwanda, filled with climbs. The start list featured top young talents, including the three-man Polish squad with Mateusz Gajdulewicz, Dawid Lewandowski, and Michał Pomorski, all representing the Mazowsze Serce Polski team.

Mateusz Gajdulewicz rode impressively, joining the decisive breakaway and staying in contention for medals until the very end. He ultimately placed fifth. It’s worth noting that earlier this year, the Pole took 6th place overall in the ORLEN Nations Grand Prix and claimed a podium finish on the Arłamów stage.

The strongest on the day was Italy’s Lorenzo Finn, who beat Switzerland’s Jan Huber and Austria’s Marco Schrettl. Schrettl also made his mark at this year’s ORLEN Nations Grand Prix, winning the Overall Classification.

The excellent results of riders familiar from the ORLEN Nations Grand Prix at the World Championships in Rwanda prove that the Polish U23 event continues to attract the most talented young riders every year.
